The first prototype of our device for the identification of microorganisms using the laser diffraction method is being tested in a laboratory of a global food producer based in Switzerland. The specific optical and morphological properties of microbial colonies lead to the modulation of both the amplitude and phase of the light beams falling on the colonies. As a result of this transformation, the beams are diffracted on colonies which act as a lens and thus become an information carrier. More about our technology.
